Join Us!
Toastmasters prefers visitors to come to club meetings for 2-3 meetings free as our guest. This lets you see how it works. Even if you do not join you will certainly be a better speaker afterwards.
After seeing the club at work we hope you will wish to improve your public speaking skills and join us. Membership involves three things:
- Paying a one-off £66 nominal free which goes to Toastmasters International. This is to set you up on their system and also covers the materials members use (like online videos, manuals) which is all free to members
- Setting up a direct debit for a nominal, monthly subscription of £16.00 to your club; here it is Hull Speakers and is for hotel rental and materials the club uses.
- Signing up to the Ten Promises of Toastmasters. Toastmasters clubs are organised by their members and not paid employees. A small number of club meeting roles are needed to be support meetings. These really strengthen soft skills. Once members are settled into the club you may be asked to perform one of these roles. There’s never any pressure. We also help train people but they really are not demanding at all.
So, if you joined in January you would make a payment of £82 (joining fee £66 + the January fee of £16) then £16/month from February onwards.
