Toastmasters International is the largest, not for profit, personal development programme in the world. Hull Speakers is one of 16,200 clubs worldwide which form part of it. The global headquarters is based in the United States.
It’s no surprise that some of the top companies in the world are using the Toastmasters programme to develop the effectiveness of employees.
Fortunately, for the rest of us, we don’t need to work in a top global 500 company to secure the prestigious benefits of the Toastmasters programme. Dr Ralph C. Smedley (left) founded Toastmasters in 1924 on a solid principle: to empower individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders – especially through public speaking. Dr Smedley also made Toastmasters affordable to individuals. Therefore, the skills that the top companies are securing are available to all of us through clubs like Hull Speakers.
